Chief Executive Officer Michelle Stevens, MHA, CRHCP has graduated from the prestigious Rural Hospital CEO Certification Program, led by the Center for Rural Health Leadership (CRHL). CRHL is a collaboration of the Dynamic Leadership Academy and the National Rural Health Association.
Stevens was part of the program’s 10th cohort, which began in October 2024, and joins a national network of rural health executives committed to strengthening healthcare in their communities. The program equips rural hospital leaders with the tools and support needed to maintain strong rural health care institutions.
“This program deepened my understanding of how to best strengthen rural healthcare with clarity, collaboration, and purpose,” said Stevens. “The mission of Haskell Memorial Hospital is to serve Haskell and the surrounding communities with the very best care. That means not just meeting expectations, but growing, evolving, and staying on the leading edge of rural healthcare leadership.”
“Haskell Memorial Hospital has a long history of rural healthcare leadership,” said Robbie Peiser, president, HMH board of directors. “I congratulate Michelle on this achievement and know the knowledge gained will be invaluable as we navigate the ever-changing rural healthcare landscape.”
Developed by rural hospital CEOs for rural hospital CEOs, the Rural Hospital CEO Certification Program focuses on core areas of leadership, operations, finance, regulatory compliance, and patient care outcomes. Through expert-led sessions and peer collaboration, participants gain real-world insights and actionable strategies to improve their organizations and better serve their communities.
“This program was built to equip rural executives with the skills, strategies, and support to lead through the toughest challenges facing rural healthcare today,” said Sydney Grant, chief learning officer for CRHL. “It’s about more than just learning — it’s about community, confidence, and action.”
Stevens’ completion of this rigorous program further reinforces HMH’s commitment to strong, forward-thinking leadership and to delivering high-quality, sustainable care to the Haskell community and surrounding region.
