May 11, 2026 (Haskell) – Haskell Memorial Hospital Chief Nursing Officer Meghan Shelton, BSN, RN, earned certification as a rural health chief nursing officer through the Center for Rural Health Leadership, a collaboration between the National Rural Health Association and Dynamic Leadership Academy.
The almost year-long certification program brings together chief nursing officers from rural hospitals across the country for focused training in leadership, operations, finance, regulatory compliance, and patient care outcomes.
Her completion of the program reflects the hospital’s continued investment in strong local leadership and high-quality care for Haskell and the surrounding region.
“Nursing leadership touches nearly every part of patient care and hospital operations,” said Shelton. “Working towards this certification gave me the chance to learn from other rural CNOs who understand the challenges, responsibilities, and opportunities that come with serving communities like ours. I’m proud to bring that knowledge back to Haskell Memorial Hospital as we continue advancing patient care close to home.”
As Chief Nursing Officer, Shelton helps lead nursing operations and patient care across HMH. “Meghan’s commitment to her professional development reflects the kind of leadership that strengthens rural healthcare from the inside,” said Michelle Stevens, MHA, CRHCP, chief executive officer of Haskell Memorial Hospital. “Her work supports our nurses, our patients, and the long-term stability of care in our community. We are proud of Meghan and grateful for the leadership she brings to HMH.”
CEO Michelle Stevens also graduated from the Center for Rural Health Care Leadership, earning the Rural Hospital CEO Certificate in September 2025.
