Haskell County Hospital Foundation announces a $300,000 donation from Google to fund advanced medical equipment and infrastructure improvements that will enhance patient care for Haskell County residents.
“This donation from Google represents a major advancement for healthcare delivery in Haskell County,” said Michelle Stevens, chief executive officer, Haskell Memorial Hospital. “It will support purchase of new technologies and equipment to allow our highly trained and skilled clinicians to deliver the highest level of care. We are deeply grateful to Google for investing in the health of our community.”
The donation will fund:
- Purchase of new telemetry equipment for patient monitoring
- A portable X-ray machine
- Generator for Haskell Rural Health Clinic
The telemetry system will serve both the inpatient unit and the Emergency Department, providing centralized monitoring of patients’ vital signs to support faster clinical response. The new portable X-ray unit will replace existing equipment, delivering clearer images more quickly to assist with timely, accurate diagnosis and treatment. The generator will ensure that the Haskell Rural Health Clinic can continue operating safely during power failures, allowing care to continue without delay or disruption.
“Our nurses and clinical staff are excited for what this donation means for patient care,” said Meghan Shelton, chief nursing officer. “The new equipment will support our clinical teams in doing what they are trained to do — providing the safest, most effective care possible for every patient.”
“For the clinic, the generator will make a tremendous difference,” said Sydney Acosta, clinic manager at Haskell Rural Health Clinic. “It gives us the ability to remain open and operational during emergencies when power is sometimes disrupted, so our patients never have to worry about losing access to care.”
The donation reflects Google’s continued investment in Texas communities and underscores the company’s commitment to supporting rural healthcare access and resiliency.
“Haskell Memorial Hospital has been serving this region since 1939,” Stevens added. “This support ensures we can continue fulfilling that mission by meeting today’s healthcare needs and preparing for Haskell’s growing community.”
