At Haskell Memorial Hospital, outstanding care begins with outstanding people. This month, we’re proud to shine the spotlight on Kelby Johnson, FNP, who cares for patients in our Emergency Department, hospital, and the Haskell Rural Health Clinic.
Kelby joined Haskell Memorial Hospital in 2024 when he and his family decided to move closer to home. With extensive experience in multiple areas of healthcare — including med/surg, family practice, orthopedics, and emergency medicine — Kelby brings both skill and compassion to every patient encounter.
“Kelby is an invaluable asset to Haskell Memorial Hospital,” said Michelle Stevens, CEO. Our community of health care professionals here at HMH and the community we serve are fortunate to have his skill, compassion, and team-oriented approach to care.” For Kelby, one of the most rewarding parts of working in Haskell is the strong sense of teamwork that runs through the hospital.
“A team approach is definitely necessary for the patient’s better outcome,” Kelby explained. “And we have a good team approach here — from the radiology and lab teams to the dietary and housekeeping teams. They’re all a really good team, which shows in the patient outcomes.”
That spirit of collaboration is one of the reasons Kelby and his family felt drawn to Haskell Memorial Hospital. He values the ability to practice high-quality medicine in an environment where every staff member plays a vital role in caring for patients. As Kelby prepares to expand his practice into the clinic setting, his impact on patients and families will continue to grow. Whether in the ER, the hospital, or the clinic, one thing remains constant: Kelby’s dedication to providing excellent, team-based care for the community he calls home.
