Article by: Haskell Memorial Hospital

HASKELL, Texas – Haskell Memorial Hospital on June 23, 2020, received confirmation of a positive Covid-19 case. The patient, a hospital employee, has been notified and is in self-quarantine per CDC guidelines. HMH has also notified state and local officials per CDC protocols and will remain in close communication with all parties as needed.

For the safety and wellbeing of patients, family members, and staff, HMH is prohibiting inpatient visitors until further notice. Patients with appointments for outpatient services such as lab and x-ray will be screened prior to entering the building. The hospital continues its strict adherence to CDC guidelines in order to limit possible exposure to Covid-19.

The Hospital Clinic and Walk-In Clinic will require individuals to make an appointment prior to visiting either clinic until further notice. The emergency department remains available for any urgent medical needs. Business operations at Stamford Family Health Clinic remain unaffected.

Proper hand hygiene remains the most effective means of reducing the spread of illness. The CDC recommends the following to further prevent illness:

  • Avoid touching eyes, nose, and mouth
  • Cover coughs and sneezes
  • Stay home when sick
  • Clean frequently touched surfaces

Haskell Memorial Hospital and Stamford Hospital District remain committed to serving our communities and delivering high-quality, compassionate care. Individuals are encouraged to stay home and call their healthcare provider if they are experiencing symptoms of an illness, including but not limited to fever, chills, body aches or coughing.
